"We are living in a time when one must not incur useless expenses. Public distress surrounds us on all sides. It is feared that it may overtake us; and even should we be spared, compassion should urge us to do all we can for those who suffer.”
St. Vincent de Paul
A reflection from St. Francis Medical Center:
Today’s atmosphere of tremendous change and tight budgeting demands a great deal of creativity to maintain our work for the poor and suffering. Gift us, Lord, with the creativity we need to continue our service in spite of the obstacles we face. Amen.
Welcome to the Ladies of Charity Morgan Hill.
The 13th annual Ladies of Charity National Assembly in San Jose, California has come to a close. During the days of gathering, we prayed, reflected, gave thanks, and came together to provide love, support and guidance to our wonderful group of ladies and the work we do. We explored our beginnings, our present and looked to our future to see how we can continue to grow and provide service to those in need. In sharing our experiences, we discovered many things about ourselves and our local organizations. We learned of the many opportunities that are ahead of us. There is much work to be done and together, our community of ladies will always serve in love and compassion.
Our speakers provided a window into their passions and the missions that drive their respective organizations. We were blessed to have them during our Assembly. Indeed our message of empowering women, thereby strengthening families resonated with all of us.
We look forward to seeing you again at the 14th annual National Assembly in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In the spirit of St. Vincent,
Ladies of Charity Morgan Hill
